Early settler concrete
This small headstone was uncovered during the upgrade of the historic Chaffey women and children graves. Research revealed that "A.W" was in fact a 3 month old infant Arthur Chaffey Waddingham, son of Emma Augusta Schell, (nephew of Hattie Schell, the 2nd Mrs Chaffey) and William Johnston Waddingham, foreman to William Benjamin Chaffey.
With permission from traditional owners, the headstone was restored using shells from middens along the river banks.
