Honeymoon Uranium Mine blockade 1982
Silver gelatin print on archival paper
The Honeymoon U-mine near Broken Hill was controversial in that it used the method of flushing sulpur liquid into the water table to extract uranium. It was also on a sacred Aboriginal site. I worked as photographer on a film crew auspiced by Friends of the Earth and created a large body of photographs. A studio fire in 1989 in Fitzroy destroyed my lab and most of the images. Some are in private collections and I have been able to scan and create high res negs in order to reprint.
